Not sure either, the link doesn't work for me. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it was another student housing project.

The link is to an ftp site which won't work depending on the security settings from where you are trying to access it.

Streetview shows construction at that intersection just getting underway at one site (which would be appropriate for a building of this size to be topped out by now), but there is another site that was recently cleared.

Thanks, I've been meaning to change my settings for the longest now. Btw the other construction site was the former Travis House before it was burned down.

A few various field updates I've noted in the past few days.

-the new upper level dining at Truluck's (4th/Colorado) appears to have opened. Looks gorgeous inside.

-Van Zandt is moving feverishly and is about three floors above ground.

-The Catherine's windows are climbing up the building and brickwork has begun. It appears there will be alternating vertical bands of darker and lighter brick running across the tower portion. My wording makes it sound bad but so far it looks great.

That used to be the site of a large creepy mansion-like home in the 1980s, and I believe into the early '90s. The roof was partially collapsed, but the crazy old guy that lived there wouldn't leave and didn't like the city bothering him.

Has anyone heard of Eastside Village coming to E. 6th and Comal?

Arnold Oil announced they were moving to southeast Austin back in February, opening up this huge tract of land to development.

Here's CVC determination request (by Perry Lorenz and Constructive Ventures) for a parking lot at 301 N. Lamar by Spring. Maybe this would be a good place for a point tower? Depending on the CVC, of course.

Google Streetview doesn't like that address, but here's a screen shot of the block:

Could it be for the rumored Summer tower? When they were building the Spring Tower there was an article that mentioned the company behind Spring was planning future projects. Considering how close that location is to Spring its a possibility.

I did a little more research after I posted that. The Barton Creek Pedestrian Bridge CVC goes right over that corner. It would be tough to even pitch a tent there.

This is completely unrelated, but I don't know where else to post it. Has anybody else noticed that EVERY TIME the Dove Chocolate ad runs at the top of the page, everything else on the site slows to a crawl or does not work at all. Maybe this just happens with my browser (Firefox), but it is super annoying. Is this SSP's way to encourage folks to subscribe to ad free browsing?

For the past few weeks I often have had to reload forum pages several times to get the whole page to load because everything below the two ads on top won't load.

We have a thread for reporting annoying ads. I'll let Mike K. know. He handles that stuff.

Hill County I was looking at that site about the proposed mixed use lot by The Spring. Looks more like urban infill than a tall skyscraper. Hopefully it will be a great design along with more retail.

I use Chrome with Adblock Plus. I never see the ads, and it's never slow!
