As seen today from Larwill Park. Imagine this view in another year or so. Towers rising and six luffing cranes between The Post and 410 West Georgia.

A cache of undelivered mail that had slipped between the floorboards?

This was kind of a neat story from the Courier:

Here’s what happened to a giant ‘C’ from Vancouver’s Canada Post building
C is for Canada Post (and Christine)

The “C” leaning against the wall in Christine Hagemoen’s small apartment is large — unexpectedly so, she says.

It is 1.14 metres high by 0.8 metres wide (or for all you Imperialists, 45-by-33 inches). Despite its size, she couldn’t pass on the chance to buy it when the opportunity arose...

..It was her combined interest in Cs and local history that was piqued when she spotted an Instagram post by The Found and the Freed almost two years ago, in October of 2017.

The Victoria Drive vintage store posted a photo of a lowercase “a” it was selling with a unique provenance.

“Just got this giant letter ‘A’ today – it’s from the old Canada Post building and is surprising light to hang — more letters available (spelling Canada Post),” the notice stated...

Thank you, as always, for the great pictures. This project seems to coming along fast for a building of such size, with so much revamping to be done. Really looking forward to it!

I wonder what would happen to the remaining 150,000 sq. ft of retail? Mostly F&B I reckon?

Probably.
If they get a good mix, they could capitalize on the "Cultural District" - QE Theatre, BC Place, Rogers Arena in evenings and not just rely on the daytime office lunch crowd (ie weekend closures).

Nice. I keep looking at the gaping holes as I ride by - I need to make another weekend visit for a close-up look through the fencing.

^^What a great picture! The unique floorplates of Arc and One Pacific really stand out from the rest.

Yeah, I do notice that even though a very competitive business, most of the F&B outlets downtown seem to be doing very well: people mostly come to the city centre for that after work hours: more so than shopping or attending cultural activities.

Looking at the photo above: without the viewcones, they could've built a tall skyscraper on top of the Post podium and helped extend the CBD skyline eastwards.
