This image gives a better perspective on the tower's current height:

I think this will probably be one of my favorite towers in Midtown, a skyscraper lover's dream. I like it just the way it is, even with no glass windows.

this building is symbolically great, because it breaks height convention in new york, midtown, set for so long by different interests, finally...

It needs company, especially in that shot.

This shot conveniently excludes One57 as well as the Citybank tower so it will have company. This tower is slowly stealing the spotlight from One57, which about a year ago was the most talked about residential building in town and as much as I like the design of One57 I'm starting to like that one as much if not a bit more.

It's difficult to form an opinion when all renders never show all projects.
With at least 3 skyline views (i.e. east river, central park, hudson river), we'll just have to wait and see.

If anyone is interested in photoshopping several renders together, that would certainly be interesting to see!

Did you know you know you can state your opinion without being a jackass?

Anyways, banal box or monolithic statement in its simplicity, it's still tall and pretty. We're here to appreciate architecture and engineering, not bash others who disagree. Whether you like this tower or not, many others like myself do, and it will change the skyline for a long time to come. I look forward to the first panes of glass!

the Empire state building just got OWNED.. once this thing is finished. as iconic as the ESB is, height wise it won't compare.

I prefer the term Jim-ass.

I know what you mean in terms of being taller than all its neighbors until 225 W 57 beats it out, but the ESB shattered all skyscraper records and was the world's tallest for 40 years. It was the first roof over 1,000 feet and therefore the first true supertall.

225 W57 will be much taller than 432 Park, and there are likely other supertalls on their way, so 432 Park's reign over Midtown will be very short.

We don't know that yet, it could end up much taller but as far as we know is only 150 feet taller. (1550 feet)

Yeah, obviously we don't know 100% for certain what the future brings, but we know that at least one building currently permitted and financed is at least 150 ft. taller, which is quite a bit.

Really? Do you want to say the same thing to the Twin Towers too (which were my favorite buildings)?

It will have company, but I dont't want anything nearly as tall too close. That could ruin it. The dominators need to dominate.

It actually is a cool story. A fantastically understated tower becomes one of the best additions to the city's skyline.
