Major League Baseball Rule 1.04 states that it is "desirable" (but not required) that the central axis run east-northeast (about 22 degrees north of east). This is to prevent the setting sun from being in the batter's eyes.

Obviously, there are exceptions to this recommendation.

In Central Texas, the prevailing winds are typically from the south/southeast. So, that's part of it. Also, the sun would shine directly into the batters eye (see above). Oh, and the stands would be baked - potentially increasing seat vacancies.

But it doesn’t include Rainey in the most recent photo. There was no Rainey during any of the others, of course.

Really interesting information about the design standards - thank you for sharing! Plus I'm sure they'd prefer for fans to watch the game rather than gawk at our skyline, ha

Are those full resolution? I'd love to have those as wallpapers in larger size. The second shot is one of the best photos I've seen in a while.

Loving all the shots guys! I was driving down Burnet Rd from Round Rock today and I drove over a crest around Shoreline Dr. only to see the domain skyline in the foreground and downtown on the horizon. It was a shocking scene as I haven't been down that road in quite awhile. If one of you with the right equipment wants a cool viewpoint head up there for a good shot.

It really helps that my gf and friends support me and go with me to take photos around the city. They think it's really funny but also cool

Thanks! Glad you like them. They are not the original full resolution, just resized for viewing. I can send you a link to the full originals if you want.

Looking forward to Waterline peaking over from this view. You can already picture it with The Travis' silhouette

Downtown from Mopac - love 6G on the left and all the cranes on the right:

And here's one from 15th and Lamar passing the rec center, really accentuates the towers' heights:
