I've been watching from my office in downtown from a distance. I have noticed that all of the windows have been removed. I've been wondering if they're about to start.

Tweet from one of the BBJ reporters:

"Despite everything going on with the virus right now, we'll have a big story in Birmingham real estate for you early next week."

Ramsay McCormack Building to be torn down, redeveloped

(Summary) The 10-story building in Ensley will be torn down due to structural issues and will be replaced with a 4-story building.

Article includes more details and architectural rendering.

well damn... that sucks. although a 4-story building will look MUCH more appropriate in that location. and new building could certainly breathe life into the area.

i've said it before, but i'd love to see a skyline of birmingham's demolished buildings. dozens of buildings in the 6-10 story range have been torn down over the years.

i drove underneath the new bridges today to check out the stadium. they are definitely much higher and just... nicer looking. i'm pleasantly surprised. and i like that they're all a light color. hope it doesn't get dirty easily.

Was on my way to get lunch from work this (Sunday) afternoon and noticed no workers at 20 Midtown. I'm just assuming that things are starting up slowly. Hoping....
