WHatever y'all ssay about the proportion issue re the spantenna, I think the size of it---which is bigger than I actually though it was gonna be--is a pretty decent trade-off for whatever outward gilding was gonna be done.

None of those lots were formerly buildings. I'm not aware of any multifamily buildings anywhere that were destroyed or seriously damaged by Sandy.

The boardwalk was obviously destroyed, but is being replaced.

Yeah so one a moderator sees Ron Jeremy's testicle popping out this is gone,
but this has to be the funniest post on this forum in quite a while.

A post like this is more rare than when Sandy took out half of the power on 1wtc for sandy, may I suggest some screenshots? it's now or never.

Also the building looks great, looks like the cladding will be done by the end of may after all.

The facade is racing around the top now. As someone pointed out the ring might be the antenna's saving grace, a transition of sorts.

I hope that we get to see the last two pieces of the antenna go up today.

Sun out in Chelsea. Could they do it today? Possibly... but the weather will be better tomorrow, and I have a feeling they only delayed it to make a better photo op, anyways.

According to this news article at least it says it will go up today. Dunno where they're hearing that from though:

They will still need to jump the crane to install the last piece. It's no where near tall enough right now. They're raising windows and other steel up all day long though. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire south-western face isn't complete by the weekend; two weeks at the most.

Also, I think it's interesting that the guy wires are purely decorative as they've built the entire thing without the added support. Maybe it was more crucial with the heavier radome / will be needed once it's covered in antennae?

Good point, I thought the same thing about the guy wires, they might be to steady it in high winds with the extra broad cast weight added to it.

Man I miss Zen Steel Dude's insight.
He would be all over the details of this last piece going up.

Lets rember him when that last section goes up.

Carlos..Dude we miss your telephoto lense and photos as well.
Good luck with what ever it is your doing now bro.

I have been wondering the same thing about the guy wires. Looking at the Earth Cam it looks like the taller cranes line is still locked down to the parapet. No lifting today.

My guess, even though that one NBC news article I posted said it would be raised today, the top will be raised tomorrow. Tomorrow has less wind and no clouds. I want it to happen today cus it's my birthday but I think for them the wind might be a little too high.
