The CBC news piece mentions the ground floor of every unit will be "business space, open to the public". I'm guessing that means they don't want or expect it to be all new retail. Maybe services like medical or dental clinics? It will be interesting to watch the development progress.

It seems they're leaning the complete community way so it would make sense. As the development progresses maybe a doctor's office, dentist, lawyer, grocery store, etc. All the trappings of life beyond bars and restaurants.

I wonder if this counts the 11 years since railside was first announced?

This is a great project but holy smokes is it ever moving slowly.

Can't wait to see it! I would have wished for a little more height though, considering it's so close to downtown. 8ish stories would still maintain that human scale.
