Yay! Thanks for the update, Draftsman.

Would be smart to get Planet Fitness for the mall.

That's very interesting. I hope it proceeds. You might be right about Planet Fitness - or is the purple colour just a coincidence? 😉

I think they were strategic in the render to play to a specific client lol.

So the purple fitness centre is where Jersey City was and the Medical where the CIBC was?

Yes and the Pharmacy building would be where Smitty’s was. I remember that corner outside-entrance-only spot was a south end location World Of Trout for a while a few years back day after Jersey City used to be there.

For reference for what is already there to what they plan to do (some shuffling of tenants to other spaces in the mall I am guessing). Vision Travel, Paris Jewellers, Suzy Shier, Clara’s Fashions, Bootlegger, Suzanne’s, ALIA N Tan Jay, M&M Meats and Mastercuts would all have to move. Did some of them already close post Covid-19 mall closure?

I can't speak for all of the stores you mentioned (and I was just there last week) but M&M Meat Shop shouldn't be moving. They occupy space 101D on the plan, but I find it odd that Charm Jewelers will stay in their current location, unless demand is there for more space for the medical centre making them relocate again. Perhaps that is why Charm's space is orange?

I wish they would do another major renovation to the outside of the mall. It is such a mishmash of styles, and not in a good way. Part of Canadian Tire's front even has a portion of the original Woolco store exposed!

I guess Strathallen and the Southland Mall website both don’t even know where their retailers are located lol.

Doesn't the grout (or lack of) look like shit? Brand new flooring shouldn't look like this. I also noticed one tile on the main level near centre court that had many crack and has to be replaced as some of the broken pieces have sunk below the floor level. Yup, give the job to the lowest bidder and you often get a crap quality product or job.

(Can photos be resized? They are so big on my screen I can't see the whole photo unless I scroll and even then I can only see parts of the photo at a time. Anyone else having this problem?)

Petsmart

I see on Aurora's website that Petsmart is opening near Costco. I would assume that they are moving from Quance. That area is slowly hollowing out it seems. I think we'll have the largest ever Spirit Halloween in the former Sears Home store.

If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to redo it?

I wonder what is going on with the Hill Avenue Shoppes? The clothing store has disappeared and the Kitchen Shop was using it as a warehouse sale location for a bit.

I may be wrong, but I am sure that Quance Street itself has a lot to do with it.
Who the hell thought that was such a smart design for a major commercial street? Idiots who sit at a computer screen going "oh! this looks pretty!"
I wouldn't blame any others for leaving that area!
