It's called a takedown, Bill Dingdong. That's all I want. A nice scathing review that shames anyone responsible for the fuckup.

I've been wondering about this one too. Other people have guessed because they wanted glass in the other sections for views, but the glass flanking the louvers on this floor isn't vision glass. That is pretty apparent in this photo. There doesn't seem to be any reason why it couldn't have been blank off louvers instead.

Just trying to balance I guess. It is someone's living room to the right side, but is all mechanical space to the left side. Keeping it just in the middle is at least an attempt at symmetry.

It's one black window louver off though. I've in the center tower wave it goes over by 1. THAT is what upsets me. If it was halfway on each side, I get it, but just missing by 1... ugh!

Overall they probably could have done with whole floor, but they want to sell that penthouse with a terrace. Not sure what level of sound deadening they will have with the mechanical stuff in the middle, but I'm sure they figured something out.

Man all that did with symmetry is make it look like Charlie Chaplin's moustache starin' down on Grant Park. Also why didn't they split both of them with a shiny blue ribbon down the middle, the big one has that line through it and the upper one, that's the moustache. I can't unsee it.

Also on a side note i do think with this being a concrete building, them Monadnock thick walls would be great for hiding out from this covfefe apocalypse i've been prepping for.

^Amen. The louvers are a fundamental part of a tall tower composition.

Samsung Seocho by KPF is a great example of how to integrate them into a tower concept.
Burj Khalifa and Jin Mao by SOM are other good examples.

Hopefully this can be rectified with paint. Otherwise I guess I'll always avoid approaching it from the South.... which will be difficult while living on the southside lol.

This is all very depressing. But I'm glad this thread focused-up.

This EarthCam used to be very comforting while I was away.

I think it looks decent from far enough away, like the top of the Skyway.

I think it looks as if it were perpetually under construction.

Would look more acceptable if all three strips were only one floor thick.

Not that it makes much of a difference but the middle black hole is on a level with no residences from what I can tell. It's probably an amenities floor.

That said, they do need to cover these holes up!

I wasn't asking a question. It is someones living room to the east, and a mechanical space to the west.
