Heh of course Boston would be the first city to get a Wegmans. When I lived up there I could walk to two Whole Foods in like 15 minutes. They do not have a lack of money up there.

City Council will make N. 3rd Street officially ‘N3rd Street’

The project to get N3rd Street recognized officially was the work of partners all along the corridor, including members of Indy Hall, Old City District and the Northern Liberties Neighborhood Association, said Danny Harvith, who helped lead the effort.

Those are shear walls. The building will be clad with limestone from Canada.

So this is real general, but I took a few pictures of the Hotel Plaza coming down in Camden a few times a while ago. Sadly it'll probably just be a parking lot for the foreseeable future.

Just for fun - but think would be viable with good PT connections - imagine a promenade sort of next to the Phils stadium - and hey why not have Comcast Sports on the corner

and fine on the building height - I can change it to whatever I want in my little fantasy map - but maybe like 6 or 8 - with a roof deck - looking and seeing people looking in on the game

I'd be happy with even a redevelopment of the sports complex with 6-8 floor buildings. Maybe throw in some 15-30 story buildings and build a mini skyline down there. It would be so easy to redevelop the area. Maybe one day when Philadelphia figures out it's business tax structure and grows more jobs!

Stuff on Chestnut street....

Renovation/new steelwork to one building on the 1500 block....

From the front....

From the back....

Apartment conversion on the 1200 block....

I remember reading about this building someplace but I don't know where....anyway they got cited for a "dangerous" facade, so who knows how long this will last....

No action yet on the 1100 block....

Society Hill furniture building residential conversion moving slowly yet surely (the doors and windows are all new)

The Hale building....

Someday....someday....

I literally walk by that above building whenever I go to Bru and wonder why it isn't apartments or something. Absolutely beautiful in a prime location. Amazing it is abandoned.

Wow, what's the story with this? It's a lovely building, and looks as though it is currently occupied. How many floors are they adding? Is it apartments or what? This one is totally under the radar!

Too true. There was a proposal to turn this into a boutique hotel before the recession hit. It went through the Historical Commission for ground floor facade changes and everything. Unfortunately it seems to have fallen through completely. I hope they do eventually go back to that plan or a similar one.

Please tell me the original facade of the Hale is behind that garbage store front? I can't believe anyone would approve covering that up.
