Pardon the ignorant question, but is what we're seeing going to be what the final exterior looks like? I have no idea how a building like this would work structurally, but I'm assuming it's doesn't need a concrete core. I was under the impression this would be clad in stone though.

Thanks! I was pretty sure it wasn't but I have no idea how the construction of a building like this works and wanted to make sure.

Many rumors in the ether world on a Wegmans at the Broad and Wash Blatstein site. Not sure I buy it as their most Urban Location would be in Crystal City in NOVA best I can tell. But that would probably substantiate more the need for 1,000 parking spaces. Who knows and time will tell

Am doubtful but curious...

I agree this doesn't seem like the typical Wegmans location... But I would freak out, in a good way!

Southstar looks awesome for what they were working with. Definitely going to be a serious improvement for that intersection.

Had my low expectations for this one, but it actually looks pretty good!

The Southstar Lofts turned out way better than I thought they would too. The Broad St side isn't great, but the South St side looks pretty cool to me. I especially like the portion with the black walls, which vaguely reminds me of something Bauhaus or Streamline Moderne.

well apparently they are building one in Boston around Fenway with 1,000 parking spaces and residential on top - still not buying this Philly location but I would also be happy - two-three blocks from me

One thing I miss about the burbs right now is wegmans

Naked Philly and others have said that the rumors are not true.

I've been to a couple of Wegmans locations now and really don't get the hype. I suppose a grocery store at Broad and Washington wouldn't be bad, but there are plenty of grocery options nearby. Not to mention the Reading Terminal is about a mile away and blows Wegmans out of the water.
