Concourse T gates construction is complete. They already opened up new north T gates expansion and new concessions, as well.

They haven’t started construction the concourse E gates north yet. When they did start? They adding more gates on the north end of the concourse E.

Absolutely agreed! That would be great! The old concourse D is so small and very tight space. They used the former Eastern Airlines to build the concourse D in 1980s.

Atlanta Marta airport station is temporarily closed for 6 weeks during renovations. The station is only more than 40 years old. You have get off at College Station and get on the shuttle bus. Only a temporary bus stop. They will take you to ATL airport.

I’ve done it twice now—not that bad honestly.

Isn’t it over in like 2 weeks anyways?

I just saw on Facebook that MARTA's airport station will be open for business on Monday 20, 2024, and the College Park bus shuttle will end on May 19th.
The info was from MARTA's Facebook post.

Hope to see you marvel at the finished product.

Elevator won’t be done by then. I also saw that they were going to install a roof similar to the translucent arrivals dome they built a few years ago, but I’m guessing they abandoned that idea, or I’m just dreaming that was said. That 1979 roof of the station is dated looking and would probably be expensive and hard to replace or upgrade with something fresher looking. Overall I’m pretty impressed with the renovation and looking forward to using it when I fly into ATL in July

I was wondering about the canopy roof as well. Apparently, this is the end of the station closure but Monday is not quite the big reveal. Renovations will continue for several months and will not be completed until 2025.

Urbanize Atlanta reported this about the project.

Quote:
To finish the project, MARTA says the station will also be closed nightly for 10 months until sometime in 2025. Another six-week closure is also possible after that, when the new canopy structure will be installed at the end of the construction process.

I think you’re right about that. Unlikely they won’t be done until 2025. Still ongoing renovations. I think temporary bus shuttle will be available during at that time. You have get off at College Park station and then get on the shuttle bus. They will take you there.

I haven't traveled Internationally in about 5 or 6 years but I just got back from Europe and came into an E Gate. I can't believe after all these years they haven't figured out a way to eliminate that nearly 1 mile walk. I wear an Apple watch and from the time I got off the jet at E to walking out to meet my ride was 0.91 miles.
