Several friends and I ventured to Puerto Vallarta to celebrate two or our birthdays (there was a zero in it-that's all I'm sayin') and the following photos show the area where we stayed and played for the week...Old Town AKA Zona Romantica.

We waffled about whether to stay in an oceanfront condo (cheap!) or a villa up in the hills. We opted for the hike up the hill and didn't once regret the choice:
The view
The 5,000sf home had 4 brs, 5 full and 2 1/2 baths, its own pool, a cook and maid and more terraces and garden areas than we could use (all for under $800!!!)

That's 'our' terra cotta colored house in the middle of the hill
I apologize in advance for the fuzziness of some of the pictures but we were, after all, in the area that produces tequila.
The Church of Guadalupe (1951)
The Malecon is a boardwalk that extends 11 blocks along the beach and features several sculptures.

Along the beach, Playa de Los Muertos!

We were also able to get in a canopy tour which I highly recommend.
