Snake Hill - aka Commissioners Rd

Well the topic of Snake Hill is back in the LFP.

This is tied into the early planning for the Byron gravel pit redevelopment.

The city staffer said that it will take a large amount of fill to go back in there. I wonder exactly how much they are talking about, considering the amount of trucks that have been taking stuff away for decades. We live near there, but I suspect we will be gone before we ever see this project finished lol

Its a pretty substantial pit, could not even imagine how much fill will be needed.

Pretty exciting actually, more so for the development there in addition to Commissioners being fixed.

How many snakes would be needed to slake that pit?

If I'm reading this right it appears that this extension is only going to be a 3 lane wide road.

If that is true then the people designing this need to consider a different career.

Please tell me I'm wrong and I've mis-read the document.

To build this extension it must be 4 lanes wide with left turn lanes at all intersections.

Commissioners Rd needs to be 4 lanes minimum west of Wonderland thru to Oxford.

To spend this kind of money and only get a 3 lane road is insane.

Read to me like the right of way for 4 lanes but only building a lane each way to start. Maybe by the time they get around to building in the 30's, they will do the 2 lanes each way. Not exactly sure where the uphill truck lane is supposed to be, if the whole length or just part of it.

I can certainly see the need to widen the road but I don't get the issue with it winding. What the problem?

Replacement of snake hill with new routing could still be 15-20 years away.
