If projects in Vancouver are being cancelled due to lack of demand for office I doubt Surrey Central will be any different.

Not to mention, the director behind this development is 'Davidson Guo.' Seems like a fairly dodgy individual.

There is also a commercial unit available to lease where this building is supposed to go, unsure why they would be doing that if this building is somehow supposed to be completed in 2028.

ML Emporio sure is leaving their mark on Surrey. Wonder what their story is, fairly new company that's fully integrated with their construction arm 'Brasfield Builders' working on their soon to be 4th highrise with several low rises completed as well.

Given the lack of success Bonnis had trying to sell strata office space Downtown recently, they may not be doing any selling either?

Strata office has a sketchy record in downtown Vancouver.

In the 1990s, there was a 28 storey strata office tower proposed for the current Paradox (Trump) Tower site called Golden Ocean Plaza. It didn't sell.
However, Bosa managed to sell a lot of units at the 320 Granville project more recently.

Strata office market is pretty flat-lined these days.

Google maps was updated recently, looks like the sales centre for Janda is under construction, while the site is cleared for the one by Marcon.

Still no movement on Thinds District NW despite the sales centre closing 2 months ago for construction.

The lowrises in the foreground at Gateway should never have been allowed, but were built during a period of slow construction starts.
The greenspace in front of the Gateway office tower was/is supposed to be developed and I assume the one by the cul-de-sac will be too.

Hasn’t that proposal been around for years? Maybe it was another one

No, this one is by Allue Ventures, same ones behind The Grand on KG. This one is pretty much guaranteed to be built, they currently have a different tower Skyliving currently in preconstruction.

The podium and tower 1 will be constructed together, with the following towers being built sequentially.

There was another commercial project on the Gateway Station Tower site years ago.
That died and the small building with Nestors was built.
That could be the one you're thinking of.
It also had a curved line of buildings.
