The thing I miss most when NOT in San Francisco is good sourdough bread from one of the top artisanal bakers like Tartine or Josey Baker's or, in a pinch, Acme.

I can and sometimes do make a meal of it along with a top quality olive oil. I used to wonder about how bread got called "the staff of life" and how in historical times people lived on just bread, but if you've tried a Tartine loaf you can imagine that.
