^ Absolutely. New York has the density, uniqueness, style and mass (250 skyscrapers over 500 feet!). All it lacks is height. With 1WTC, 4WTC and One57 nearing completion the skyline already got a height boost.

I did a quick calculation (based on official height, 1 and 4WTC included. One57 and 1715 Broadway are not included.):

Average height 10 tallest buildings: 334,7m (~1100ft)
Average height 50 tallest buildings: 243,4m (~800ft)


PS: As of now NY has 56 buildings exceeding 200m (656ft).
