Not found anything more yet about the Palace Gardens Barbecue location, but speaking of her, on the Elizabeth Short in Hollywood website, Chapter 2 - The Hawthorne Hotel Crowd, the place is mentioned:

"Several of the girls at the Hawthorne worked at the Palace Garden Barbecue, where Lynn was a waitress."
This was in 1946.
