I can see the 7 line extension going in two different directions from Secaucus. All these places already have heavy rail service and direct service into Manhattan. There would be no need to extend the 7 train to any of these places.
If the 7 train were to be extended beyond Secaucus, I would imagine it would go where there currently isn't any direct rail into Manhattan.
