I just found out that the Rose Bowl July 4th fireworks have been cancelled for this year. When I was a boy in the Linda Vista neighborhood in Pasadena, we neighborhood kids would troop up the Chamberlain Street firebreak for a half-mile or so. From up there you were looking right down into the Rose Bowl and we'd sit there with our cokes and snacks and watch the fireworks. I wonder if kids still do that.
