Interesting that NIMBYs alone can hold back the height of skyscrapers in Canada's #3 metropolis. Also interesting that the citizenry apparently has no issue with high-rise development, given the ubiquity of Vancouver's glassy apartment/condo towers, but just very tall development. Even San Francisco, the most boutique-y city out there, allows for limited supertall development. Nearly every city has height limits, but I've never seen such a low (600 foot) limit for a major city except when mandated by the FAA or something.
