From what I have heard, the majority of chronic homeless in Sacramento are mentally ill. Also, someone recently pointed out that we spend all this money to house and feed and care for criminals; but, we don't spend the money necessary to take care of the homeless...especially those that have mental illnesses. It's a sad commentary on our society. We spend how many millions more trying to teach people a lesson than we spend for those who may not be able to take care of themselves?
