At least initially, it was known as the Royal Court Apartments:

The January 6, 1910, building permit lists the building's address as 600-604 Coronado and shows the building's owner,
James D. Fiscus, as the architect. The
1911 LA City Directory gives the address as 604 S. Coronado.
