I could be wrong, but
I think this might be the same area as in the above photo (in the red rectangle). The twin white buildings give it away..as does the clump of trees,
and the houses on the crest of the hill.

-titled "Looking west from downtown 1904" The buildings in the detail above must be far far away, or else I have the wrong pano.

It looks to me to be part of the panoramic photo titled "Los Angeles, Cal., Feb. 8th, 1909, looking northwest from Hill and 7th Streets".
