Surprised no one identified the 4 door sedan parked in front of 636
and next to the seemingly ubiquitous VW Beetle. According to the advertisement :below:, the sedan was available in 1959 right around the corner at Max Barish Chrysler Plymouth 444 South La Brea. Harry Angle, Inc at 4627 (?) Hollywood Blvd had them too. Chrysler imported them "direct from Paris," or at least that's what the ad says. Of course, in 1962 when the photo was taken, the sedans were probably available on used car lots in the area.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the (1959?) Simca Aronde 4 door sedan.
(Evidently Chrysler dropped the "Aronde" name as part of its marketing strategy.)
