Are there still a fair number of abandoned buildings in the downtown core, or is that area filling in? I recall the street where the CPWR hq was to be built had quite a few empty storefronts and wig shops at the time...

Most all the storefront facades have been renovated along that, and quite a few filled, but there are still quite a few vacant. Were the Merchants Row and Woodward Center condominiums under renovation when you were there because they've filled in most of the area. Even still, the area looks a MILLION times better than it did just a few years ago, and here are some examples...
