Here's progress on the new $667 million Mississippi River Bridge, which will reroute I-70 in downtown St. Louis. The will be a 1,500 foot cable-stayed bridge across the Mississippi River between Metro East (Illinois) and St. Louis, Missouri. The bridge is two lanes in each direction, but is wide enough to be restriped for three lanes in each direction if traffic volumes warrant and additional funding is secured.
By the way, I vote for the bridge to be named The President Barack H. Obama Bridge. Besides ending two wars and a host of other positives, he's from Illinois (Chicago) and the largest rally for his first campaign for POTUS was in St. Louis under the Gateway Arch - 100,000 people. Only Denver had slightly more two weeks later.
