Taken somewhere up in the Boston Mountains


These are the Ouachita Mountains in central Arkansas.


Fort Smith National Historic Site, this was the western frontier back in the 1800s. Right across from this fort was the Oklahoma Territory. The fort was also a major staging area for the Trail of Tears.


Van Buren is one of Arkansas oldest towns and is located across the Arkansas River from Ft. Smith. It has been around since the late 1820s and is in my opinion one of the most charming small towns in the state.
