You can tell by the shadows they throw against the side of the house.

Due to the positioning of the letters in the lower left corner of the sign, I think the shadows may be painted on to give the illusion of depth.

This is all I found on MKM Motion Pictures. It's a full page advert from The Radio Annual and Television Yearbook, 1954. Although based in Arizona, there's a Hollywood address at 8556 Hillside Avenue - just up the hill from 8411 Sunset. The 1956 CD has the HO 9-5110 number listed to Dave Greene in apt 5 at 6052 Romaine Street.
I looked up the careers of John Bromfield and Chinook the Wonder Dog, both of whom were big in the '50s. I also found a couple of passing mentions of Lea Knox Marlow, but nothing on the proposed TV show, 'Peter Angel'.
