This tweet from the GTH yesterday cracked me up. They seem to think the bullseye radiating out from the GTH clearly demonstrates its strategic advantage.
It did the opposite for me... it demonstrates just how ridiculous the GTH is. Unless we're really focusing on getting into the northern AB, SK, MB & Territories markets, the radius should shift to the south & east a bit. Kansas City, Denver & Chicago all make much more sense. Doing this also makes ports in NYC, Montreal, Halifax & Houston much more accessible (not to mention Mexico & the southeastern US).
By this logic, La Ronge is the ideal location for a Sask-focused distribution hub, right? It's in the centre of the province. That's the key factor, right?
