I can assure you that minimal expense was absolutely not undertaken at the TD centre. That place is filled with marble. Similar to FCP, it was coated in a granite cladding (Expensive, but ugly and it was literally falling off before the recladding to glass).

RBC centre, while not completely minimalist, quite literally has gold in its glass.

These buildings weren't built on the cheap and modernism absolutely =/= cheap.

As for Scotiaplaza, its post-modernist. So yea, its going to look like a postmodernist tower. And its a damn good looking post-modern building as well.
