i believe this photograph is of the boyle hights area which was cleared to become the aliso village housing project

Aliso Village was leveled in 1999 to make way for the new housing authority project Pueblo del Sol. Aliso Village consisted mostly of apartment buildings, Pueblo del Sol's housing stock is largely detached and semi-detached single family houses. The project has been criticized for reducing the number of units at the site by 30%, at a time when Los Angeles suffers a severe shortage of affordable housing.
