^ Back a couple decades ago or more, there were even sidewalk plows, but I don't think they have them anymore.
Yet, the snow clearing budget seems quite high, but I don't know how that compares with other cities.
This is from the city website:
"The City of St. John’s receives an average of 322 cm of snow per year. To deliver a high level of service to the public, the City budgets approximately $12.5 million dollars per year for snow clearing and ice control operations. Ice control and snow clearing are very complex activities."
