^ It's amazing to me that the MTA didn't think to do this between the Bedford Ave stop on the L train or a little further north into Greenpoint or near Mccarran Park, and to downtown Brooklyn right after they reviewed the Sandy damage to the L train tunnels and knew that they'd have to eventually be closed in some capacity for repairs. Something like what's proposed is needed even in a world where the L train tunnels aren't seriously crippled from a capacity perspective.
