The quality of architecture in the city often comes up with new proposals/projects. So what can be done about it?

Sometimes you have to travel far from home to have fresh eyes on what you see and experience every day. A recent family trip to Europe was culturally exhilarating, and as an architect I could not stop decoding the urban experience in the different cities we visited and lived in.

In American cities, as in European ones, we are becoming increasingly aware that livable, walkable places and neighborhoods create value and grow value. Design has value. The Midtown Blueprint, BeltLine initiatives, and SPI neighborhood zonings are working to create the scaffold to building the places where people want to be.
