Its always interesting to look at the skyline of 2015, and compare it to the transformation of back in the day. These clips show that from 1920 to the late 70's.

Even then, Midtown was still large. Amazing the transformation in a 90 + years.

Compare the changes from the 1920's to 1956.

Good old chinatown still looks the same. A lot of culture and architectural goodness could be found there. Much of the neighborhood is still the same as it was back in the day. Even with the midrises going up near the area, it still retains its character. The biggest changes have occurred in Midtown, and parts near the WTC. We are so use to it, that its almost as if the city is missing something looking back at these.
