Not likely. As history has shown, NYC is very good at withstanding little hiccups in the global economy. Even larger ones. Capital usually flows into the city anytime some crap goes bad in the world. The Chinese are flooding U.S. real estate markets, so this China instability might be good for projects down the line.

I wouldn't be concerned. Biggest boom in history, and many of the proposals are becoming reality.

What I can tell you for certain is that in the future, the sun will explode, killing everybody on earth and within the solar system (if we get to other planets). All of this that we see will become specks of star dust. All our cities, people, history, erased. A speck of charred carbon forever forgotten.

So while economics can be hard to predict down the line, and as a result, the consequences, our fate as a species on earth is on a time limit and for certain.
