They did mention back when the proposal first came out that they had hoped for a phase 2 of the project on the adjacent land to their current proposal. This could be them securing it now before someone else scoops it up.
I still have hope for this proposal, especially considering that they've been so involved with the public to make the project work, as well as having another "Hilton" brand hotel doing well in the city.
