Los Angeles Armed Forces Induction Center

Some amongst us can be counted on as old enough to be eligible for the military draft during the Vietnam War (oh I’m sorry…that wasn’t a war was it?) and I’m most certainly included in that group and who may have seen their life changed in a dramatic way at the old Armed Forces Induction Center at 1033 south Broadway. I remember going there for a classification physical and then visiting the Air Force recruiter in the same building and hearing the news that John Kennedy had been killed. So that was a double whammy day I won’t ever forget for two big reasons. Anyway as near as I can tell the building may still be there although it looks better now than what I remember from that day 50 years ago. I don’t recall seeing anything on the forum during my two times reviewing of the first 630 pages. Any recollections or stories???
