I found a clearer version of most of the photo, and the source identifies the location as "Corner of Lankershim and Magnolia Blvds."

I think this might be the building next to the market - it was built in 1936. The corner lot where the market stood is now empty. One of its neighbors apparently appeared in 'The Karate Kid' according to
lamag.com.
