Lawmakers look to speed up delayed NYC casino process
The chairs of the Legislature’s gaming committees want to draw up a new downstate casino timeline after delays, but the governor hasn’t signaled support.

On Monday, the commission detailed a new timeline for the high-stakes downstate casino bidding process, which will ultimately give way to what is likely to be three of the most lucrative casinos in the world.

Now Addabbo, the head of the Senate racing and wagering committee, said he is working on getting a bill introduced in the state Legislature that would speed up the current timeline by allowing the Gaming Commission’s facility siting board to evaluate casino bids before applicants are finished with zoning and environmental reviews.....
