sadly, it's blank on both sides. 
The sign is atop an animal hospital. (just like the Ambassador)

Its placement above a vet is a coincidence... but it seems that that's an old Western Auto sign. A cursory look reveals no picture of the un-blank sign, but Western Auto was at 5540 N Fig in 1956, for one date.
