Bear with me, Postimage is giving me trouble, so this is going to be all text for the moment.
The sign looked like "...RY W WHITE." In the 1941 Glendale city directory I found:
Harry W (Edith F) bldg contr 1526 Canada blvd h1730 Alamo dr

Plus the only other "Glendale" image the eBay vendor was selling was a
construction photo of Glendale College, which is very close to 1526 Canada Blvd.
I made some screen grabs of the mountains from Google Earth, but you'll have to wait for now. (working now!!)
There's some missing ridgeline behind the hanging branch, which looks like it was removed for the freeway.
