You know what? I'm digging it too. This is C E Toberman's last Hollywood subdivision. The cornerstone was laid Jan 57 and it opens on Toberman's birthday (Feb 23) in 1959. The architects -- Austin Field and Fry -- used, for the first time anywhere in a structure of this height, lightweight concrete precast panels. The building also used lots of glass mosaic tile from Italy. It was in front of First Federal Loan, during its construction, in 1958, that the first eight stars of the Walk of Fame were placed.
