NEW YORK | 16 Charles Place | FT | 5 FLOORS
Project: 16 Charles Place
Quote:
The five-story building will have 39 apartments spread across 25,959 square feet of residential space, for an average unit measuring just 664 square feet. Rentals seem to be in the works. There will be a surface parking lot with space for 20 cars—the minimum needed to satisfy city zoning requirements. Tenants will also have access to a shared roof deck on the fifth floor, recreation space on the ground floor, laundry, and storage.
Karl Fisher is handling the design, and his firm created two completely different renderings for the project. The first one shows a typical faux-loft building clad in yellow brick, with curved windows and doorways. And the second is a boxy building with overlapping patterns of gray, red, and black brick. The developer evidently chose the loft-style design, which features small balconies affixed to each window on the top three floors.
