Skating comes to Atlantic Station

The rink, which will take over District Street between 17th1/2 and 18th streets, will be part of a family-friendly holiday entertainment lineup that includes a tree lighting and parade on Nov. 23 .
Operated American Skating Entertainment Centers -- which builds winter-like retreats at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and the Galleria shopping center in Houston -- the Atlantic Station rink will require 400 tons on refrigeration and will need to be resurfaced daily by a full-sized Zamboni.
