It's a very handsome tower, but I stop short of calling it beautiful not because of quality of material or proportion but because it lacks the vertically it should have, and this is primarily due to the lack of strong vertical banding and a lack of window uniformity that prevents the kind of monolithicality (sp?) that one would see and expect from a Deco era tower. An example of it is shown on that last photo of the east/west side windows. It's a perfect example of function over form, but in this instance I'm convinced it could have been better.
