Is this Silver Lake in Los Angeles proper, or another Silver Lake up in the mountains somewhere?

Graybeard's post which seems on target. The coveralls worn by the photo's subject are reminiscent of a flying suit. Same with possible headgear and goggles. Garb could also be for warm-weather skiing, but Wallace was known for taking to the sky in his own planes.
