Groundbreaking Marks Final Phase Of High Line Park

After 13 years, an end is finally in sight for the High Line.
The city will hold a groundbreaking ceremony today for the elevated park's final phase.
The capstone stretch will wrap around the site of the planned Hudson Rail Yards from West 30th to West 34th Street.
When finished, it will extend over a mile, starting at Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District.
The group Friends of the High Line formed in 1999 to save the former freight rail line from demolition.
