Its too bad that crap got built, those public housing towers took out so much of the Lower East Sides historic buildings. At one point in time that area had one of the densest populations in North America. Loads of pre Civil War buildings lost forever. Oh well, it could have been worse if Robert Moses had his way with Manhattan.
